Infrequently Asked Questions

What did you want to be when you were a kid?
When I was a child, I was in a stage production at the South African State Theatre where I played a doctor. The songs I sang included all kinds of technical medical and anatomical terms. The show had such an impact on me that I was convinced that when I grew up I was destined to be a doctor of medicine.

Any hidden talents?
I sing Tenor in a Bulgarian Folk and Orthodox Choir.

What sports do you do?
I enjoy spinning (indoor cycling) twice a week and doing Bikram Yoga. It’s a good balance of both fierce activity and calm. I love exercising during the winter because walking outside afterwards feels like a million little prickles.

What is your favorite meal to cook?
I really enjoy making  Moussaka. I enjoy cooking overall, but the process of making Moussaka is soothing because of the order of the steps this all-in-one dish needs to go through in order to come out of the oven gooey and delicious.
